Athletics

The Sterne Athletics Program is a source of great pride, spirit, and excitement. Being part of a team or group provides opportunities for student athletes to cultivate physical wellness, teamwork, confidence, and camaraderie. We believe in a culture of healthy competition, self-discipline, and respect, and we work every day to promote and model these values.

Whether feeling a first rush of school spirit at a basketball tournament, or touring internationally with our State Champion Handball Team, or riding bikes through our urban neighborhood, our students participate in Athletics at all levels—and we welcome their enthusiasm. 

New Facilities!

Sterne opened its new, state-of-the-art Performing Arts & Athletic Center in February 2023, and at the heart of this incredible space is the Kunze and Laflamme Family Gymnasium, which hosts our Athletics programs and also serves as a social center of our school. The gym has state-of-the-art equipment: score board, jumbotron, bleacher seating, and for social occasions, special party lighting!
